The Opportunity
At Phorest, payments are central to how our customers run and grow their businesses. We’re looking for a Payments & Risk Operations Senior Manager to lead the strategy and evolution of our global payments and risk operations, ensuring we deliver a seamless, secure, and scalable payments experience across all regions.
This is a senior leadership role with significant global scope. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, R&D, Commercial, and Customer Operations to embed payments into every stage of the customer journey, while enabling regional teams to perform at their best.
You’ll lead a small, high-impact team of specialists and influence teams globally to drive operational excellence, reduce risk, and support Phorest’s continued growth.
What You'll Do
Define and evolve the global Payments & Risk Operations strategy and operating model
Partner with Product and Commercial teams to support rollout of PhorestPay features across regions
Lead payments partner strategy, governance, and performance management
Improve onboarding, support, and risk processes through automation and optimisation
Use data and insights to drive operational decisions and performance improvements
Establish strong incident management and risk mitigation frameworks
Enable and influence regional teams to deliver consistent, high-quality payments experiences
Lead and develop a team of payments specialists
What You'll Bring
10+ years in payments, fintech, risk, or global operations, including people leadership experience.
Deep expertise in payments processing, merchant acquiring, payouts, fraud/chargebacks, and compliance across multiple regions.
Proven ability to design and scale global operating models, processes, and automation.
Strong understanding of payments partners (e.g., Stripe) and the commercial, technical, and operational dynamics of PSP ecosystems.
Highly data-driven with strong analytical and KPI design skills, experienced in using insights to drive decisions and outcomes.
Solid financial acumen, including cost of acceptance, loss forecasting, and revenue/retention impact of payments.
Strategic, systems-level thinker with strong executive presence—able to set long-term direction, build scalable frameworks, and influence senior leaders without authority, and make balanced, values-led decisions that align risk, customer experience, and commercial outcomes.
Experienced leader of specialists who builds capability, develops future leaders, and drives high performance through clear expectations, coaching, and continuous improvement.
Exceptional collaborator who aligns and uplifts regional teams through influence, strong relationships, and open, values-led communication.
